Give partial credit on MSQ, HotText, and Hotspot questions

What it does

You can now award partial marks on MSQ, HotText, and Hotspot question types. That means student scores can reflect what they got right (and what they still need), instead of turning a nearly-correct response into a zero.

How it works

  1. Create or edit a Resource with an MSQ, HotText, or Hotspot question

  2. Set the correct answers as usual

  3. When students respond, Wayground calculates partial marks based on how much of the response is correct

  4. Review scores in your Sessions to see more precise results

Example in action

In a 7th-grade science Resource on cell parts, you use an MSQ question: "Select all organelles found in plant cells." A student selects 3 correct options but misses 1 and accidentally includes 1 incorrect. With partial grading, their score reflects the correct choices they made, giving you cleaner data to plan a quick reteach on the missing organelle instead of reteaching the whole concept.
