What it does

Code Busters is a new game mode in which students answer your quiz questions to earn the right to crack each other's PIN-locked vaults. It's the calm option among the live modes, built for focused thinking rather than fast reflexes. You host from a live dashboard, and rounds run on a five-minute timer before ending with a podium and accuracy summary.

Students can generate their own AI vault artwork so classmates see something personal when their vaults are cracked (prompts pass through moderation). Coins earned in Code Busters feed the same avatar economy as the rest of Wayground.

How it works

Here's what a round looks like for your students:

1. Each student locks their vault with a secret 3-digit PIN and starts with 500 gems

2. They answer your quiz questions to earn coins and, every few answers, get a steal turn

3. On a steal turn, they get three Wordle-style guesses at a classmate's PIN (green means the right digit in the right spot, yellow means the right digit in the wrong spot)

4. Crack it, and they take 20% of that student's gems; the cracked student re-locks with a new PIN

5. Correct answers also charge a "reveal a digit" power-up, which can be spent to peek at one digit of a target's PIN

Example in action

It's the last eight minutes of 7th-grade science, and you want to review last week's cell biology unit. You launch Code Busters with the quiz you already have, and within a minute, every student has their vault locked. By the bell, they're arguing about digit patterns and asking if you can run it again tomorrow.
